What is GetOnce?

How do I use it?

First you need to select the category relevant to your search. GetOnce allows searching in the categories listed at our home page. These categories are navigated using the menu bar at the top of the page. Web sites to be searched can be chosen from the list of stores displayed for each category using clickable boxes. If you wish to search all stores within a category, simply click the "tick all" check box. (This is the default behaviour).

After typing in keywords for the product you wish to buy, click 'Get' and your results will be returned within 5 seconds. If you find the product you're looking for, simply click on its link and you will be transferred directly to an appropriate area (usually a product page) of the website selling that product.

Can you please help me find this book ⁄ dvd ⁄ cd etc. ?

We cannot provide any additional information to the search results that you already obtain from searching GetOnce. If you did not see any results for your search come up then it may be that this product it not available for sale or that it is listed under a different name. The best we can suggest is that you broaden your search by including only one or two key words for the product you are searching for. We are continually optimising our search to make it more accurate and useful to customers.

Do you know when this book ⁄ dvd ⁄ cd etc. will be released ?

One advantage to using GetOnce is that many stores sell items as "pre-orders" and we try to list these products in your results. If you obtain no results for a search, not even any pre-order listings, then it might be some time before the product you're looking for is released. We do not keep any additional information on release dates other than what is obtained from searching.

I placed an order with you ...

GetOnce does not sell any products. It is simply a search tool to make finding products easier. For more information please see the about page. If you placed an order for a product that was found on the GetOnce website, then you would have placed that order with one of the stores that we search. We provide a list of the stores searched by GetOnce under the "Store Information" link for each category. To follow up on an order you will have to contact the store where your order was placed directly. If you can't remeber which store you placed the order with we suggest checking your email for an order confirmation or visiting the websites listed in the appropriate category to see which site looks most familiar. You will almost always receive an order confirmation email from stores however, so this is the first place to check.

What is the "Site Response" section?

The Site Response section is located at the top right-hand corner of your search results page and gives you an idea of how results are being retrieved for each store. Possible notifications are:

 OK: Querying was successful and results should be present on this page

 Still Retrieving: Given the live nature of the search we perform, some stores may not have had time to reply to your query. To ensure that you are not kept waiting an unreasonable amount of time we limit the maximum search time to 5 seconds. Any stores that could not respond within 5 seconds will display this image next to their name. This is quite normal and simply means that we are still retrieving results for those stores in the background and those results should be made available to you when the "Next Page" button is clicked. TIP: If you would prefer to see more results on the current page for comparison purposes, if you see the still retrieving image then simply click refresh in your browser.

 Finished: Querying has completed successfully and there are no more results available from this store.
